Sage couldn't help but grin as Xara began to chew the boys out on their behavior. She was very tempted to laugh because Xara was like a clucking old hen trying to teach the chicks how to behave. And nothing was more pleasurable than seeing Edison get his ass chewed out, though she didn't see exactly how Hadrian had played a part in all of this; yes dealing with her brother was always bad but it's not like he knew what to expect from the crazy man! He had gotten too deep in the hole to turn back when Edison stabbed himself. But hopefully Hadrian knew Xara well enough to know she was only looking out for him.
Shr nodded as Xara turned her attention to her and sat down next to her friend. She couldn't help but get excited over Xara's large belly and was definatly going to ask her lots of questions later, but she turned her attention back to the guys and smiled at them in turn.
Edison made a long groan as Xara began to babble. And he shot daggers at Hadrian, wondering what else he had told her. He was almost clear out of the water until he opened his er mind mouth. "I thought you knew me well enough to know that I do those things, and don't brin him into it now!" Mentioning Patrick made him feel guilty.
"And when do I sound like a whining pregnant woman huh? At least I'm not like 'Edison please don't do this you'll hurt yourself, think of the children!' " he tried to mock, holding his face with his hands.
He groaned again and rose to his feet, pacing back and forth in the small room before situating himself on his desk. " What have I told you before? I do what I want and NONE of it is your concern" He turned his glare to Hadrian. "And you should have shut your damn mouth about things here and then maybe I could have trusted you better! I thought you actually liked your Harley in one piece."
"Edison!" she snapped glaring at him. Apparently Hadrian really liked his bike or Ed wouldn't have threaded to break it. "He won't break it Hadrian, he just has a big mouth." she tried to reassure him before glaring back at her brother.
"It's okay Xara, I understand if no one else does, and she's right it doesn't hurt." she tilted her head and whipered to Xara. "It's not a fairly large wound anymore I dont think I'll will hurt you too much." she moved her head back and returned her happy demeanor. She couldn't stand to see Xara hurt her babies by trying to help out others.

[glow=red,2,300]Hello, hello, are you listening? Hello, hello, are you there? You've tuned the voices out but now the symptoms are everywhere You are, you are, you are part of this I know you think you're much more You better think again Because you're one defenceless animal [/glow]Xara's green eye's softening as they fell onto Sage for a moment before they pierced through Edison and Hadrian. Hadrian lifted his brow's while he listened to Xara, first feeling a little bit smug at the fact that she was scolding Edison for being an idiot and stabbing himself, but as she began to berate him Hadrain began to feel a bit defensive. She was having a go why? Because he was here firstly, Hadrian had been right Xara would have been wondering what sort of reasom Hadrian was here in the first place, probably thinking he was into any sort's of business. He hoped though that in their time span of knowing each other, though brief, she would know him well enough to see that Hadrian did not wish to dabble in whatever Edison had to offer.
He wasn't going to admit it straight away Xara did make him question his own action's. Had it been a good idea to just have let Edison suffer. Edison had made the decision to stab himself, he knew what the ususal outcome for that was. Then again he might not have done it if he didn't know about Hadrian's faster healing capeabilities. Oh why didn't life have a backward's button?
"Well? You are injured too, yes?" Xara's eyes were of dagger's as she spoke but the expression of reproach melted away shortly as she seemed to collect herself on some level and cautious optimism made it's way into Hadrian's thought's as he hoped that she was over her little rant.
Hadrian didn't answer straight away as he noticed Edison stared dagger's at him. Or perhaps pocketknifes in his case. Patrick, who was Patrick? Someone close to Edison he assumed. A bit of information that came in handy he guessed. Oh great, he was beginning to think like Edison now. Maybe he had spent too much time in that room.
Edison had risen from the couch then, and Hadrian's eyes followed him as he paced back and forth for a moment before sitting at his desk. Hadrian turned away to focus his attention back onto the girl's, not wishing to speak to the man, but was apparently about to be denied that hope as Edison decided to threaten one of the very few thing's Hadrian possessed. His Harley. Hadrian's anger flared as he strode back across the room, placing his hand's palm down on the desk as he leant over, regretting the action some-what as his stomach pinched painfully, but he was feeling hostile as his eye's stared into Edison and his face pulled into a scowl, that expression itself looking threatening. "Dont you dare threaten me you little," he slipped an insulting word in his own tongue in there, "I healed you, I can harm just as..."
Sage interupted then, switching back into intimidate-mode. Hadrian's hostility subdued slightly as Sage spoke, now combining with annoyance as well, though he was also a little grateful that she had interupted. He did not like the idea of getting into a verbal punch up with two woman present, especially if one of them was pregnant. And even though Xara was pregnant he was possitive that if feeling threatened she;d be able to handle herself. How much of Edison's threat was just his big mouth though? Hadrian had forgotten Xara's offer to heal him. He wasn't sure what the point of it would be. He could heal just fine.
It hurt yes, and it was uncomfortable too. If it was a normal wound, like for example something he'd done to himself then regardless of his speedy recovery process it would probably need stitches to make sure it heal's correctly. Even his species were susceptible to healing incorrectly. But since he had healed something that another person had done to themselves and absorbed their injury in a way, the gash would gradually begin to close and 'dissapear' just as it had appeared. So it'd take time, but it would happen.
"I'm fine," Hadrian walked away from the desk, but not before sneering at Edison as he crossed the room. He walked slowly, keeping in mind to keep his torso straight as he walked to avoid it throbbing. "I wouldn't mind rincing this though," he pulled at a corner of his jumper, "and maybe clean off some of the blood." Hadrian had seen several room's in this bakery, one would lead to a kitchen or a bathroom at least. He turned to Edison's sister, "Sage, would you mind showing me to a sink?" He knew it was polite to ask, especially since although he hadn't felt very welcome, he was still a guest of sort's. He hadn't wanted to ask Edison, and although Xara probably visited frequently, she was another guest and Hadrian was taught that it was considered impolite to ask anyone but the "host" or "hostess" in this case.
Back home, once you were invited into a home you had free rein to help yourself to use restroom's, eat, drink, whichever, with limits of not being able to taking anything out of the house that you didn't come in with in the first place. If a person wanted to give you a gift or allow you to take something then it was customary that the host or hostess bring it outside for you. Once you were invited into the home you had their permission to liturally make yourself at home.
It took a while for Hadrian to learn that Human's were not like this, and had found it a little strange that they didn't see it this way. When Hadrian had felt well enough to walk after falling into the lives of the two paranormal farmer's he begun to help himself to their bag's of sugar, pouring it into milk carton's so that he could drink it without disliking the taste.
They hadn't seemed to mind much but it wasn't until after they went to visit a friend and he helped himself to their couch cushions and tried and nap on their kitchen table they decided they needed to teach him a little etiquette. + + + + + + + + + + + + + +

Xara sighed and rested her head in her hands, looking down at her knees. Men! She thought scathingly, they were all the same weren't they? She was lucky she was single. Xara spent more time than she should have at Edison's office, but there was also the fact that it was over a bakery that her, possibly best, friend worked in. She would be lost without her makeshift tribe. She lived alone, in a drabber part of town, and she hated it. Her drinking was out of control when she was a lone which, perhaps, was why she spent so much time with Edison and Sage.
She picked up her tail in her hands and petted it gently, stroking its soft, silky fur as if to calm her nerves. She hated seeing Edison in situations like this. She loved the man, in a brotherly kind of way. She knew he could never love her back of course, but that was the way things were. The exotic woman's clothes clung to her every supple curve, carved out by years of hard training, a few of malnutrition on Earth, and then wight gain from the disgusting human food she was forced to eat when they found her and took her to the facility that was supposed to help paranormals. It did, sort of, but it also forced her into human society which meant bottling in what you felt and dealing with it alternatively. In her world, this meant alcohol. Xara reeked of it most days, but today the stench of vodka was bearable and even faded.
She straightened her spine and leaned back against the couch, wearing a sweater and jeans, eyes blazing with hatred for this forsaken planet she had landed herself on. She was always so...emotional. Ever since her husband on her home world, Juri, died she was on edge. She didn't know why, though, it was a mystery to her, she hadn't even loved the man.
Life just wasn't fair.
"the bathroom is on the left. Last door," she said before Sage could say anything, "You do not need help urinating, do you?" she asked in blunt, honest curiosity. The look on her face was of something that was purely innocent, as if she didn't even know what she was asking was an odd question. She turned back to Edison,
"I came here to say hi, but I also need to ask you a favor. I need a new place to live, their condemning mine soon and I'll be homeless. Do you know anyone looking for a roommate...?"

Edison rolled his eyes as Hadrian tried to make a comment back to him. "What? Are you going to heal me to death, or maybe strangle me with your three fingers?" he smirked and shook his head. Yes he was a bit cocky, or maybe it was just his big mouth trying to keep him out of trouble. If he acted all big and tough then their was less of a chance of his opponent wanting to fight him, where he might not be the victor.
Sage opened her mouth to answer Hadrian's question but Xara beat her to it. She kept forgetting how many times she had been over and knew this place better than herself sometimes. "Let's hope you don't need help in that department." Xara's immaturity on this planet made her laugh nearly everyday, but that was one of her better examples. She was use to the out of bounds remake that her friend made, but strangers weren't.
"Once pretty boy cleans himself up why don't we go outside? It reeks in here already and two more people just make it worse." his eyes lingered on Xara as she finally spoke, hr had almost forgotten about her sitting in the corner. He raised a brow at her question, what was he, the roomaranger? He already had Sage living in his office and his boyfriend staying over most nights, where was he going to keep Xara? "No I don't."
Sage shot her brother another threatening glance, wondering why he was being such an ass hole today! "I'm sure we can find you someone looking for another person, but till then you can stay with me, I'll just use the couch, it's fine. And you better not decline because your generosity is sometimes too damn annoying." She grinned while trying to be serious, she definatly wasn't good at intimidating others.
(( I know that made me laugh as well. xD))

[glow=red,2,300]Hello, hello, are you listening? Hello, hello, are you there? You've tuned the voices out but now the symptoms are everywhere You are, you are, you are part of this I know you think you're much more You better think again Because you're one defenceless animal [/glow]Hadrian's mouth twitched into a mildly amused smile as Xara asked if he needed help urinating. He tried to detect any mokery or derision but her tone seemed completely curious. "I think I'm quite capeable." he chuckled, ignoring Edison's "pretty boy" comment as he walked past the three human's and passed through the small hallway as he heard Xara mention something about roommates. Wasn't pretty boy something people called a large bird? Last time he'd checked Hadrian was sure he had no feathers. And to be quite honest, urination had been the furthest thing from his mind.
The hallway was small but the bathroom was tiny as you would expect. It was not the sort of bathroom you would expect to find in a bakery. There were a few door's that led to different room's so he supposed a bed or two were around somewhere. Edison and Sage obviously didn't live together so who lived here? He remembered Sage saying he could visit whenever, and his brow creased as he realised it must be her that lived here.
The bathroom was probably five by five meters, with a small shower and a pretty busted looking sink. Mould grew in the gap's between the tiles on the wall's and there were stain's on the shower curtain. Hadrian flicked the lightswitch, glad as a dim light filled the small room and then walked over to the sink noticing a clean bar of soap on the side and turned the 'hot' knob on the left so that the water could spill into the basin. To his surprise, and relief the water looked clean.
As the water ran into the sink, Hadrain took hold of the bottom of his jumper and slowly pulled it over his head before taking the blood-soaked part and grasping it for a moment as he looked himself over in the mirror, focusing mainly on his torso. He really was all snake-hip's and rib's protuding out, though most of his species were. His skin was as pale as cream while his lip's were just a slight coral color. The skin around the gash itself from what he could see was already beginning to turn a shade of pink as skin healed around it. Hadrian took the jumper and held it under the stream of water. The water that ran into the sink was stained a dark pink as it mingled with the blood, slowly becoming shades of lighter pink's until it almost became clear.
Wringing the wet jumper, Hadrian enjoyed the way that the hot fabric felt on his hand's for a moment before he placed it gently over the gash on his stomach. Wincing, Hadrian allowed a small grunt of discomfort escape his throat while he dabbed the wet jumper over the crimson stain's. It didn't take too long before the blood was cleaned off and he ran the sleeves of the jumper under the hot water, wrapping it around his stomach to that the sleeves acted as a sort of bandage. He knew that the second they stepped outside he'd be freezing but at least he wouldn't be riding home in a wet jumper. He'd rather catch a cold then pneumonia. He'd had that before and it wasn't pleasent.
Hadrian had little to no immunity from Earth sicknesses. Even a cold could turn very nasty for him. When he first came to Earth he'd gotten sick all the time, very easily. He'd caught pneumonia after trying to heal a common flu, and as you can understand when you aren't from this world, human Doctor's have no idea what your medical history is. He'd considered himself very lucky he had been in good hand's at the time.
Hadrian looked himself over in the mirror again, again making sure that the jumper was secure around his stomach before he turned around, noticing something white outside of his peripheral vision, he turned his head and realised it was a toilet. Lowering his head, he looked down at himself briefly, before glancing back up at the porcelain seat again. "Nah." He shrugged, and then flicked off the light as he walked back toward's the three human's. "So outside yeah?" He spoke just before he re-entered the room. He wasn't sure of what they might've been talking about since he'd gone to the bathroom. Beside's he was inwardly a little paranoid about his Harley. "Wouldn't mind a little moonlight, and fresh air actually... maybe something to eat?" + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
