Edison sighed gently as Hadrian said he wanted to know about his own ‘powers’ ad rolled his eyes. Had he not offered that trade to him a few minutes ago? Either Hadrian wasn’t listening or he hadn’t said that clearly enough.
He didn’t know what Hadrian’s powers were there was no way for him to. Pulling a knife wasn’t his only option, he had also considered jumping out of a window. But he didn’t like falling very much, and being stabbed was a better of the two for him. Funny how he had to decide between two horrible things was the least horrible. And getting him to show his powers wasn’t the only reason that he had harmed himself. He was extremely messed up in the head and always thought he was living in a dream land of sorts. A good stab was needed just to make sure he was still alive.
He let out a hiss as Hadrian began to examine his wound, but kept a keen sight on what he was doing to make sure he didn’t want to finish him off. His eyes narrowed as the other man tried to make a deal with him. Tell no one? What kind of deal was that? That was practically the only reason he wanted to know!
Edison opened his mouth to speak but Sage interrupted him. “Yes he won’t tell anyone.” She blinked and looked to her bewildered brother with a sober expression. “You’re in no position to make deals Ed, you shouldn’t have done that to yourself in the first place, now stop moving.” She pushed his head to the floor and smirked at him. Now matter how much he talked, Sage was one of the few people who could make him shut up when he needed to.
She kept a firm hand over his eyes as Hadrian started to…she wasn’t sure what exactly he was doing, but it seemed like he was trying to heal Edison. She didn’t want Edison to know every detail about Hadrian’s powers, only the gist of it. He bit is lip, wanting to protest but felt an odd sensation on his wound and shut up to try as feel what was happening.
Sage’s eyes widened a bit as she saw a spot of blood on Hadrian’s chest which slowly grew and began to seep down his body. So he was taking some of the pain away from Edison, why? No sane person would ever help Ed, especially not sober! But then the man explained, but his response still didn’t make much sense. If he wanted to nice he should show people who would maybe return the favor kindness, not some heartless person. “Come on Ed get up.”
He gave a grumpy sigh before sitting upright and finding that the majority of the pain had vanished. But unfortunately he hadn’t gotten to see Hadrian at work and how he had transferred the wound onto himself. He stood up and looked at his stomach, rubbing the small bloody line. “See that wasn’t so bad was it Haddy?” Edison chuckled and stretched his arms behind his head before sitting back down on the couch.
Sage frowned and looked down at the man before glancing at Edison then back to Hadrian. “Are you going to be okay? And I won’t tell him, promise.” She gave him a reassuring smile, hoping he didn’t think she was the same as her psychotic sibling. Edison waved his hand. “Ah leave the man alone Sage he doesn’t need whatever help you could provide him with.” She nodded gently and backed away from him until she felt the wall and rested up against it. Edison sat up cocked his head to the side. “Well thank you Hadrian for you’re little demonstration, you’re a healer that’s very interesting. I think my friend would love to meet you one day, don’t worry she’s much nicer than I am.” He laughed gently. “Any who I guess I owe you something else now? I mean I will keep your abilities a secret, no problem, anything else you’d like? Me to give you a lock of my hair for the police?”
(( xD That’s awesome! And you’re loophole seemed fine, he might just be a bit bitter about the whole thing, but I think he’ll keep the deal.))

[glow=red,2,300]Hello, hello, are you listening? Hello, hello, are you there? You've tuned the voices out but now the symptoms are everywhere You are, you are, you are part of this I know you think you're much more You better think again Because you're one defenceless animal [/glow]Hadrian's hand's quivered slightly as he lay on the floor, trying to collect himself slowly. Edison had already gotten to his feet, stretching his arm's before lifting his torn and bloody shirt taking a look at the wound he'd inflicted upon himself, or what was left of it now. It wasn't as deep as it had been, but it definately hadn't healed completely. Edison would still be lucky not to need a few stitches. He wasn't sure the extent of Edison's injuries now, but he sure as hell could feel his own.
Edison asked if Hadrian thought it really wasn't so bad. Yes! Yes it was! Were you not feeling all this? Edison walked passed then and Hadrian had to resist a strong urge to reach out and trip the guy as he walked toward's the couch, sitting back down as if nothing had really happened.
Hadrian's stomach throbbed as the young woman spoke to him, offering him a smile he assumed was meant to look comforting. She at least appeared a little more trustworthy than her brother. Hadrian took a good look at Sage. She seemed genuine enough. Perhaps having her around, especially when dealing with Edison would come in handy. She didn't have to place her hand over Edison's eyes when Hadrian had begun to heal him after all, that was all her idea.
He was grateful as Sage asked if he was okay, and nodded stiffly, realising that he'd made no attempt to get up at all. He wasn't even sure he wanted to. "I believe you." He said giving her a slightly appraising look. But he was satisfied that he could trust her when she said she wouldn't tell her brother how he'd been able to heal him. Hopefully the secret would leave the bakery with them.
Edison, looking comfortable enough on the couch spoke to Sage then, and her response surprised him. Instead of perhaps back-chatting, she bit her tongue and backed off toward's the far wall where she stood, looking as if she was trying to blend into the peeling wallpaper. It was because of this simple action that Hadrian assumed that Edison was the eldest of the two sibling's.
Hadrian decided he should get up, or try at least. Taking a deep breath in, Hadrian used his arm's to lift himself up so that he was propped up on his elbow's. Despite the fact that he was trying as slowly as he could, the sudden movement made Hadrian need to swallow convulsively as a lump of whatever he'd eaten before rose into his throat and threatened to spill onto the floor. Rolling over, Hadrian layed his palm's flat against the floor as he pushed himself upward's, maneuvering himself so that he could reach for the desk and lift himself to his feet. Hadrian leaned against the desk, not quite sitting on it but not quite standing either while he payed little attention to what Edison was saying, instead, he lifted his jumper and inspected the damage of his stomach. The skin was red, and inflamed around the wound, and as Hadrian had predicted some blood had stained his abdomen as well as his jumper, and the lining of his jean's. It wasn't as deep as Edison's was, thank goodness, but he had no doubt he'd be a little sore for an hour or so. It was interesting, looking down at a wound and knowing it came from your body. Interestingly enough, Hadrian's blood was a very bright shade of red instead of the darker shade of a human's. Heh, he'd forgotten that.
Hadrian continued to breath deeply, glaring at Edison from behind his messy bang's. He promised himself that this would be the last time he helped this guy. He had several times tonight, and where had it led him? Almost exposing himself completely (figuritively) and a sore stomach. Leaning his head back, Hadrian swallowed a few extra times, just to be sure nothing would come up. The door looked further away than it had before. Hadrain wondered briefly whether he would move without falling.
Hadrian hadn't been this hurt for years. Hurt yes, but not to the point where he just wanted to lay down in a feotal possition and wallow in self pity. To be honest Hadrian often tried to avoid conflict of sort's, or at least physical confrontation's. Verbal fight's were fine, if they didn't lead to anything like fist's being thrown or weapon's used. The last time he'd been this hurt on Earth would have to be... darn maybe within the first few minute's of being jettisoned and that was many year's back. He hadn't been thrown too far from the ground, maybe 200 meters or so but if you can picture something the size of a full grown male falling through the roof of a barn no matter the distance, it would bloody well hurt!
"Who is your friend?" Hadrian asked, looking at Sage as if he were talking to her as well. Just because she was now standing on the other side of the room didn't mean he thought she should feel excluded. Though he might not vocalize it that way. + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
++ NOTES xx There ya go! Haha I bet he's not too happy! All I can think of now is "omg I hope Hadrian's bike is okay!" xD ++ TAGS xx Hadrian // Edison

Sage whimpered gently as Hadrian struggled to get p and moved to help him, but Edison shot her a sideways glance as she backed up to resume trying to stay hidden. She had to keep reminding herself that these people were all Edison’s clients not her friends, and if he was indifferent to their sufferings, then so was she. But still, she couldn’t help but feel bad for the three fingered man, he didn’t seem like the normal client Ed had, and he defiantly didn’t seem like any cause of a threat. What was he so worried about he seemed harmless.
“My friend’s name is Xara.” Edison flopped onto his back on the couch and played with his cigarette lighter idly. He flicked open the flame and waved it around before playing a chicken game with his finger by seeing how long he could keep it in the flame before retracting while he spoke. “She’s an alien of sorts, bright red hair and ears. She has this ‘link’ she calls it, taught me some small amounts on how to use it, but she heals and can read minds and such, pretty cool.”
“And she’s having twins.” Sage said, making a half circle on her stomach. Xara always seemed scared about having kids, but any person who had just met her would know she was one the most responsible people to become a mother out there.
“As if that’s important Sage.” He rolled his eyes, not caring about the silly little detail. Having kids didn’t make a person anymore interesting.
“It is important! Unlike you she has her priorities in order and actually cares about other people.”
“I care about other people Sage.” He said bitterly, flipping his lighter shut and tucking it into his pocket while glaring at her. “At least I can actually get a boyfriend, which means I obviously am doing something right that you aren’t.” He smirked at the looked of anger on her face as she tried to say something clever, but couldn’t think of anything.
Sage bit her lip and sighed, slinking down onto the floor and looking down at her feet. Edison seemed happy with himself knowing he could still control his sister and sat upright looking over to Hadrian with a quizzical look. “Well if I have counted correctly, I, unfortunately, owe you a favor.” He counted on his fingers, one for Hadrian saving him, which he hadn’t redeemed yet, and another for showing him his powers, but that favor had been canceled out already.
(Ah dang this is short, sorry d: )

[glow=red,2,300]Hello, hello, are you listening? Hello, hello, are you there? You've tuned the voices out but now the symptoms are everywhere You are, you are, you are part of this I know you think you're much more You better think again Because you're one defenceless animal [/glow]Hadrian kept a firm grip of the table behind him, looking from Edison, to Sage. He wondered why Sage sat way over the other side of the room, and looking so much more timid than her mental brother. As far as Hadrian could tell, they were complete polar opposites.
Hadrian's interest was piqued as Edison mentioned Xara, yes they'd met before too. She was a mentalist of sort's, lovely with tall red ear's. He had met her through Tara, another friend of his who he'd sort of rescued one night from a sadist boyfriend and his drug-fucked girlfriend. "I've met her," Hadrian tried not to move too much as he spoke, which proved difficult as he inhaled deeply before he spoke. What did Xara possibly have to gain by assosiating with him? And what made her qualify as a "friend" in Edison's eyes? Hadrian made a mental note to ask her about it the next time they met. He was about to speak when Sage's voice caught his attention. Twin's, yes he knew she was having twin's. Tara had mentioned at some point that she was scared of having the babies. Maybe it was beause he was a male he didn't really understand, but he supposed that whatever species you are, having something come out of you after months of being inside you would be a bit of a daunting thing to have to face. Especially if there's two of them!
Hadrian thought's trailed to his own species babies then. When born, an Andromed baby developed much like a feotus outside of a womb. The infant's structure was still reminded to some development process, such as the open skull fissure and lack of features such as hair, third eyelid's, eyelashes, eyebrow's and fingernails and toenails. Within a week the infant would become more mammalian in appearence, with slight human traits, especially in the head, though at first it is much larger. The arms are small and thin, with the standard eight digits beginning to develop out of the skin. Their eyes are large, with black pupil's and iris', eye color doesn't change until the baby is about five month's old. And unless tested, the gender stay's a mystery until they are about a month old, when the genital's begin to form, and within two months their development from a feotus stage is complete.
"Yes, she's a mentalist." He made it obvious that he and Xara had met at one point but he was unwilling to volunteer the information of when or how they'd met, or how friendly they were towards one another. If Edison really wanted to know he'd have to ask Xara. It made Hadrian wonder how similar Edison thought that his and Xara's healing ablities were.
Edison added a comment about the importance, or lack thereof of having children. Hadrian had never seen what wzsa so great about patting a pregnant woman;s stomach or getting all clucky over the smallest thing such as a burp or gurgle. But he supposed that Edison meant that on his own list of important thing's, the fact that Xara could heal and read mind's was a lot more interesting than whether or not she was having children. Hadrian wondered if Edison had ever considered that Xara's children might inherit their mother's abilities? Hadrian was sure that little revelation would be of great importance to Edison should he ever think about it.
Sage got a little fired up over the matter then, but was shot down shortly as Edison made a remark on relationship status' and inadvertently... sexual orientation. So Edison was homosexual? Did that explain anything? Not really. Though Hadrian did find a little comfort in the thought that if Edison were homosexual, he wouldn't have children of his own.
Did Sage want children, Hadrian wondered. Perhaps that was why she was defensive over Xara. He wasn't left to think about it too deeply though as Edison spoke, again of favors. Would that be their base of association then? One owing the other a favor over and over again until they were eventually left with what?
"You have counted correctly." Hadrian stated simply, his face void of expression, until he looked back over at Sage and his brow creased slightly. She was a pretty thing, really. He assumed he must be getting used to human's, because although their species were similar, he'd never really found any very attractive. Maybe it was the thought that to him, they were alien's and it seemed a little... weird to think that he might find one attractive.
With care, Hadrian allowed himself to let go of the table and walk toward's her, being mindful to take slower step's and keep his breathing regular. Since he'd healed Edison, Hadrian's breathing had been a little irregular as his fresh wound throbbed painfully. He could feel the wetness of his jumper around his stomach sticking to his skin, cooling the wound though it was still very painful. "You dont want to sit there," Hadrain stated as he held out a hand to help Sage get to her feet, "I doubt the floor's very comfortable. Stand with me." It was only then that he realised that there was a little blood on his palm. He wasn't sure why he'd think of it now but knowing that it wasn't just his own blood, but Edison's as well. Though the colors were the same, the shades were different and it was easier to tell that there was more of Edison's blood than his own. Probably because Hadrian had placed his own hands over Edison's wound a lot longer than his own. He'd barely touched his own except to get a better look at it, and he didn't much feel like doing it again soon.
If Hadrian spoke with Sage what would Edison think? Not very highly, he was possitive. That was one of the reason's he was choosing to speak to her, he supposed, but it was also his rather annoying habbit of trying to help the down-trodden... or at least inadvertantly getting caught up in helping out another being despite the fact he may not be that keen on doing so. She had shown him kindness when she didn't nessisarily have to, but did anyway despite her brother. Also maybe because she was a little pretty. Easy on the eyes whatever you want to call it. It may not be a free world anymore but he could still think it if he wanted to. + + + + + + + + + + + + + +

"Thanks for that." he scoffed. Sure he knew a lot about Xara, but he never knew a word for her powers. She was an alien not some humanoid with powers. Yet he still didn't know what her planet was called or what her species were called, Xara never seemed to give out any important information like that to him, and he was sure to no one but Max.
But Hadrian couldn't acuse him of not knowing enough about the woman, he knew a great deal about her. Her partner, her worries, her favorite foods, even her friends. One 'friend' Tara, he could also consider somewhat close to. His sister had gotten locked up in jail with her for awhile and his boyfriend had tormented the woman many of times. In fact, Patrick had tormented so many people he knew it was hard to keep track of, including Sage, which had caused a strain in their relationship. Maybe that's why they were attracted to each other, two not so well in the head people getting along. They dent have to change to be in a relationship and didn't have to worry about what the other one was up to. No matter what it was, it would be bad.
Another thought struck him. How did Hadrian know so much about Xara already? Obviously they had met before, but for how long? Did she already trust him and made a friendship? That was never good. If anyone tried to hurt Xara's friends she would stop at nothing to protect them, even if that meant dying for them. Edison snorted, why would anyone be willing to do that? Oh never mind he would do the same for a small amount of people.
Edison nodded as Hadrian said he did owe hi one more favor. He wasn't asking if he owed one, he was telling him, but he didn't want to freak out right now when Hadrian wasn't in the best of shape, why would be the fun in that? And hopefully nothing else would happen to make yet another favor spurt up from out of no where. This could go on until someone dropped dead, but Edison wouldn't accept Hadrian turning down a favor. He didn't want to meet up with the guy again under the same terms, and he was a man of his word for favors.
Edison watched Hadrian with an unamused expression as he tried to stagger to his feet. To him it looked like he had drained himself trying to heal him and was suffering badly. This meant he wasn't as powerful as Xara, but he hadn't met anyone yet who was. But he became a bit irritated when Hadrian wouldn't just spit out what he wanted.
As long as Sage could remember she'd been living in his office, none of the people her brother brought home had talked to her. Usually she was happily tucked away in some corner disguised as a household pet just watching. Most, if not all, of the people here were from the shadier parts of town and only wanted odd things to fuel their twisted lives, and Edison was the person to go to without being pestered by questions. Still, she never thought I'll of her brother, yes he was annoying at times, but she still tolerated him and tried her best to protect him from whatever or whoever made fun of him. Sage felt sorry for him, she felt liked she had caused all of his grief.
But what shocked her the most was when Hadrian moved over to her! This had defiantly never happened before and she was a bit stunned when he stuck out his hand to her. Sage stared at his hand, not because of his missing digit, like it was a posed snake for a few seconds before grasping it and pulling herself up off the ground. This guy was defiantly not a normal client Edison dragged in, he was kind! This was all so confusing and she decided not to say anything, or couldn't think of anything to say.
Edison's eyes narrowed as Hadrian went over to Sage and decided to lend a hand, literally and figuratively. "Just tell me what you want already and stop wasting time." He spoke in a strained voice, not liking how this guy acted.
(( That was great! I love the way that Hadrian thinks and acts, he's food out how to push Edison's buttons! Haha and I managed to get in a reply during a layover in the airport, how convienient!))

[glow=red,2,300]Hello, hello, are you listening? Hello, hello, are you there? You've tuned the voices out but now the symptoms are everywhere You are, you are, you are part of this I know you think you're much more You better think again Because you're one defenceless animal [/glow]How much did Edison know about Xara? And if he knew Xara well, did he know Tara? It might've sounded a little strange but he liked the two human females, especially Tara, who he felt a particular liking to. He never liked getting close to people. It never really bothered him but once he did then he'd have his ways of being quite kind and hospitable towards the person. Because of his inability to warm up to people too quickly, and unwillingness to be kind all the time. Mostly, it's if it suits him, he'll do it. If he doesnt feel like doing something, he wont do it. Ulterior motives and all that. He was a bit of a rogue and that's how he liked it. Of course that doesnt mean that there is no kindness in Hadrian's heart.
Rian supposed that the reason he felt like he actually wanted to know Tara was because she seemed different than everyone else, kinder. Or maybe it was Hadrian's annoying habbit of assisting the down-trodden. When they'd first met, Tara had been confronted by her ex boyfriend in need of a serious attitude adjustment. Hadrian had wisked her away on his Harley and eventually met up with Tara. Could have something to do with the fact that they were both considered paranormal's too. Though that probably meant nothing; Edison was paranormal too and Hadrian definately didn't think that he'd ever get along with him.
Hadrian's hand remained extended as he waitied for Sage to make her move. She looked hessitant, in fact she looked scared. He could have almost pulled his hand away if he didn't notice her hand finally wrapping around his and he gripped it reflexively before pulling her up, he kept his hand there for a moment, his eyes focused on her puzzled face, and he allowed a small smile to creep upon his pale-white features before Edison appeared. What was it, protectiveness or jelousy he detected in Edison's posture and action's?
What did Hadrian want? Did he feel that he couldn't leave? Why was he still here, anyway? There wasn't anything he wanted from Edison, not that he could think of anyway. But it seemed to bother the guy that Hadrian wanted to keep the favor. So he'd do what he could to keep it for as long as he could. What good could come out of any favor given to him from Edson though. "I want to keep the favor. I want to leave here, on my Harley, and go home. I have your card, I know where your bakery is so as soon as I want to cash that favor in, I'll be back." Hadrian wanted to be very specific in how he wanted thing's done. Especially in regards to his Harley. He needed that thing. "Pan calling the kettle black though dont you think? If you hadn't stabbed yourself we'd be out of eachother's hair already." + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
++ NOTES xx Pot not Pan! XD ! Maybe we can have it so that Sage and Haddy develop some sorta thing? Could have it so that privately Hadrian's half getting to know her, and get interested to get back at Edison, but half legitametly starting to like her? She could find this out down the track and get pretty mad? Edison wouldn't like that OR the fact that Hadrian was trying to court her in the first place. So it's like a mini plot thing. Maybe Hadrian could go back to the bakery soon and saaaay Edison's not there?

Xara's tube of toothpaste was almost gone, and she felt simply nauseous after having eaten her third one that day. Her stomach grumped and gurgled, and the infants in it moved about the more she ate, making it challenge to keep it all down. She patted her stomach, rubbed it, spoke to it, but nothing she could do seemed to make them settle. She tossed the toothpaste tube into the nearest trashcan which, conveniently, was just under Edison's office. Though she didn't notice until something tickled the back of her mind, causing her to snap her eyes up to the building. Her brows came together, giving her a confused look, as she turned her head to the side, reaching out with her link to the kernel of alarm that had made her look up so suddenly.
She reached for it, but did't quite touch the links of the three people in the building. Sunshine splashed her face, turning her colours even more vibrant than usual, hiding the fact that her eyes had a slight glow to them. She dropped the link, shook herself and walked up the steps to the business condo, brows still pulled together in deep thought.
It would be nice to see Sage again. Tara was no help when it came to matters of emotions. She just made fun of Xara for becoming progressively larger, which Xara was none too happy about. She was none too happy about anything Tara did, really, which was why she spent as little time as possible in her company.
The elevator steadily taxied her to her location, giving her time to worry and fret about what was going on in that gross little office Edison had there. She tapped her foot on the floor of the elevator until, with a chime, its doors yawned open for her to step out of. When she had first come to Earth she was terrified of Elevators, and wouldn't even step one foot inside one. She passed a stuffy looking couple, who huddled together when they thought she was out of earshot to express their disgust at seeing paranormals reproduce. That cut deep, but not as deep as she'd expected it to. She was going to have two wonderful babies, and they could stand there and be jealous all they wanted.
Xara stopped in front of Edison's door and burst in, unannounced of course. Her suspicions were confirmed. She grinned at them all, especially Sage, as she stormed in, declaring a couch in his office as hers. Her feet thanked her for it, and she sighed in relief. She looked at all three of them in turn, and her eyes settled on Edison.
"I smell blood." she said unhappily, her eyes sharp as ever with contained fury, her hormones only intensifying that emotion. "What the hell is going on here?"

"That it? Well you should have just said that in the first place Eh? Well fine, grab your things and leave." he waved an arm at the man while chewing on an finger nail lazily. He couldn't help but grin gently." It was fun Haddy." he gave him a salute and rolled over on the couch with a chuckle.
Sage blinked and tried to clear the confusment in her mind. She tilted her head to the side as she wondered if he had actually smiled at her? It sent a shiver up her spine and she shut her eyes momentarily. Hadrian was a fairly good-looking guy but Edison didn't like him...ah hell! Edison didn't like anyone, and when did she ever let him decide her life? Well usually she would, but she was getting a bit tired of his chocies for her and could tell he was becomming more out of it each day.
She couldn't blame Hadrian for wanting to leave, who in their right mind would want to stay here any longer than necessary? Sage returned the smile and pushed her hair behind her ear. "Yeah just come back whenever, I'm sure someone will he here." he'd just better hope it wasn't just Edison, or he might get a nasty ear full or even another knife event.
Edison tilted his head back on the couch and glared at Hadrian at his last statement. "I only kept you long enough to get what I wanted, after that I want you out of my hair. Say good bye to three-fingered man Sage."
She rolled her eyes and looked apologetically to Hadrian. "Judt ignore the idiot laying on the couch." and grinned as she made him groan, but it looked like today was just full of surprises.
Edison jolted upright as the door open and onto his feet as he expected someone far worse than a red headed woman. "Dear god Xara knock please? And how the he'll dd you get up here, the door was supposed to be locked! Ah nevermind..." He sat down on the couch and craddeled his head at all these people in here.
Sage grinned as the fiery headed woman collapsed on the couch, it was good to see a familiar face. "Xara! Unexpected visit." at least she wasn't here when they had been discussing her. But like always she was beginning to pry.
"Nothing out of the normal preggo, just had a little...incident." he smiled at Hadrian before flicking his gase back to Xara. "But mister Hadrian here fixed everything up just fine."

[glow=red,2,300]Hello, hello, are you listening? Hello, hello, are you there? You've tuned the voices out but now the symptoms are everywhere You are, you are, you are part of this I know you think you're much more You better think again Because you're one defenceless animal [/glow]Hadrian pursed his lip's to a thin line as Edison decided he could just wave him away, as if Hadrian had completely overstayed his welcome. Not much of a welcome anyway really... and what thing's? Apart from his wallet, which was in his back pocket, his key's, front left pocket and his Harley... Hadrian hadn't brought anything else. Guess the only other thing he could take from here was a fresh stab wound in the guy and that wasn't really the best parting gift anyway.
Hadrian watched as Sage lifted one of her hand's to tuck some of her hair from her face, allowing more of her pretty face to show under the ceiling lamp light. She smiled too, and Hadrian's smile grew a little wider. What was it that he heard once about the different way's that Human's express attraction? Apparently playing with your hair was one of the most obvious sign's, and wasn't that what Sage was doing right now? Yes it seemed so. His smile grew wider as she suggested that he come over "whenever" as well. So she wanted to see him again, that was good. Hadrian put his hand's into his pocket's, glancing down and letting out an over exxadurated cough, instantly regretting it however as his stomach tensed unpleasently and he let a strained moan. He glanced at Edison, frowning, "And you think you got what you wanted Edison? How abou..." But he did not finish his sentance as the sound of the door being suddenly forced open startled him into silence.
Expect the unnexpected. Isn't that what some people say? Well there'd been a lot of that tonight. From having Edison liturally burst into his life to being stabbed, to a person he really hadn't expected to turn up, regardless of the fact they were just talking about her. Talk about burning ear's. It was Xara!
Even with her ever-swelling stomach and dominating presense Xara walked with an air of grace and beauty as she entered the room and sat on the couch shared by Edison. She seemed to stare at each of them for a good long few second's before her eyes landed and stayed upon Edison, there was a short interaction before Xara commented, "I smell blood. What the hell is going on here?" Who could she smell it from? Edison, himself or the both of them? Perhaps the latter since they had both bled. Hadrian wanted to get another look at his own gash but decided not to for now, beside's he wasn't sure what Xara must think, seeing him here in the first place. Would she think he was a client, as Edison put it? She probably must do.
"Your ears must have been burning." He decided to say, directing his gaze toward's Xara, while ignoring Edison's remark of "mister Hadrian here fixed everything up just fine." the dry undertone did not go un-noticed. "I was just about to leave actually," he looked at Sage, then back at Xara, "Edison mentioned that you two know each other?" He wondered how much they knew about eachother. He looked at Xara straight on then, remembering something about her mentalist abilities. Steadying his thought's and focusing on Xara, he used his thought's, hoping that she was as focused. "Idiot here stabbed himself. What else was I meant to do?" he ran his finger's over the wet part of his jumper, being careful not to let his digit's brush against the gradually closing gash. The healing process definately wouldn't be immediate... he wasn't invincible! But what might take several days to heal, Hadrian would heal in a day, two at most. If someone broke a bone that might take a few months to heal, Hadrian's would heal in a few week's. Though the possibility of him breaking anything wasn't as high as Human's thanks to the higher calcium content on his bones.
Stab wound on the other hand? He might'nt even need stitches, though they'd certainly help the healing process a lot quicker. Skin didn't just close on it's own, not even his. + + + + + + + + + + + + + +

"Idiot here stabbed himself. What else was I meant to do?"
Xara's green gaze had wandered over to Sage and prompted a warmness to grow inside, quenching the annoyance that had been previously directed at Edison and, partially, Hadrian. She wasn't sure why but she was always much more critical of males. Probably because of the dynamics of her culture; men took the role women had in ancient times, except a little less extreme. They were basically the same in society, but females maintained they were the more important sex because they 'thought' they could control themselves better than males, they were more strategic in their fights with friends and, of course, because of their ability to have children.
Xara knew better, after having spent some time on Earth, and her blame was set on experience of Edison alone. Hadrian's explanation made her sit upright, as much as she could considering she had a large belly, and glare at Edison. She flicked her ears toward Hadrian,
"You stabbed yourself? Are you insane? What would Patrick think about that, huh? You selfish little man." Xara scolded darkly, looking back at Hadrian. "And you? Why are you here, then? What could you possibly want with Edison? That usually means bad news for him, and I don't really feel like dealing with his whining and complaining about 'oh, Xara I'm dying can you help me?'." she said, getting into a hormone fueled rant that she knew was unfair and probably going to get her in trouble. She hoped her bad Edison impersonation helped her popularity a bit.
But he wouldn't hurt a pregnant woman, she was sure of it. Especially not since Sage was there. "You know, one day I'm just going to let you suffer, just to teach you a lesson. Do you need me to go over knife safety? Are you two?" she continued, shifting a bit so the weight of her stomach wasn't all in one place. She looked up at Hadrian and looked him over.
"Well? You are injured too, yes?" she said impatiently, cringing inwardly for being so oddly owly. She sighed and placed her head in one hand, holding her other out to the three in apology, "Forgive me, being pregnant is making my emotions less...controllable. Hadrian, if you're injured I can help you. It will take no time at all, and it will be painless. Right, Sage?"
She asked with a lovely grin towards her female companion. She patted the seat beside her, hoping Sage would take it. She missed female companionship, and she still wasn't quite sure Tara counted as a female.
