The drive home was awfully quiet, with only the aloud of warm air blowing through the vents and the drops of rain o the window. Had he said something that upset him, besides trying to kill him? He really hoped he hadn't, he loved Patrick too much to let him walk away upset.
Edison kept seeing Patrick's glances and turned his head to face him. "Where's your hat? It always made your hair so cute when you took it off." he reached out to touch his face, but froze and returned his hand to his side. "Sorry." God this was turning out to be a horrible day.
"Unconditional? Yeah it's something crazy people say." he paused and cracked a small grin. "Bit we aren't sane are we Pat?" Hopefully by now Patrick knew he didn't want him to go away, to leave him more or less. And if he was mad he could yell at him all he wanted and he'd be just dandy with that.
As the car came to a stop at his apartment he looked out the window in silence and listened to the soothing rain. "Okay Patrick, I'll see you...tommorow." he opened the passenger door and shut it behind him. He hesitated for a second before walking up to his door, by the time he had got there his hair was plastered to his face and Patrick's jacket was barely holding up.
He turned sharply and ran back, almost slipping a couple times, to Patrick's car and opened up his door. He wrapped his arms around his neck before kissing him before pulling back after a few seconds. "Come inside with me please?"

Patrick sighed and began to back out of the driveway, when Edison came slipping up to him. He stopped his vehicle before Ed reached the door, and winced as he tore it open, wondering for a split moment if the demon had come back to him. Then, he felt his boyfriends arms wrap about him, hugging him. He hugged the man back and held him tightly, stroking his hair.
"Come inside with me please?"
"Come inside with you?" he asked, turning off his ignition. "Well I suppose it makes sense; you can hardly dress yourself without your sister or my explicit help, can you? I bet you don't even own a matching pair of socks!" he joked in good nature, climbing out of the vehicle with Edison cradled in his arms. He led the man into his own home and picked out some clothes for him, then set into the kitchen to fix up a pot of tea.
"Ed, look, don't worry about what happened today." he said, pouring some tea into a mug for each of them, handing Edison one. "If you want to talk about we can, and we should, but I want you to know that it's not going to make me love you any less for what you did, or make me want to be with you any less."
He blew gently across his tea and took a sip, then placed his mug down so he could peel his shirt off of his sweat beaded skin. It peeled off damply, and he draped it over a chair, smiling at Edison.
"Can I borrow your washer? You gooped all over my shirt."

Edison could feel how tense Patrick was at first and felt bad for scaring him. He blinked back in confusment as Pattick seemed like he wasn't sure if he wanted to come inside, but once the ignition turned off he knew his answer.
He nodded and grinned at his comment. "You're probably right on that, but that's the only reason." He didn't want Patrick to leave, fearing he might never come back. He would be devastated if something had happened to him once he left.
Edison hugged Patrick tightly as he got out of the car and the two went inside out of the rain. He whimpered gently as Patrick left and he switched on the remainder of the lights and locked the door securly. He smiled warmly as the man returned and took the clothes from him before wandering into the bathroom. He untied the soaked coat from his waist before pulling on the dry clothes, realizing how cold he was. He wiped his hair off on a towel before going back into the living room and blushed as Patrick's shirt was off, wondering why he was so uncomfortable around him when he had been practically naked a few minutes ago.
"Um yeah course." he picked up the shirt and the jacket and went to place them in the washing machine. "Sorry about those, don't worry I'm machine washable." Edison grinned slightly and sat down on the couch staring out a window idily.
"I really don't want to talk about, but I think it's the best idea...and if it's what you want then I just want to make you happy I suppose." he tapped his fingers on his chin before stealing a glance at Patrick. "Are you okay though? I was worried about your powers I know you don't like doing that to people, is there a reason why you do it?"

Patrick chuckled and swept Edison up in a bone crushing hug, squeezing him and rocking him side to side as he kissed the top of his head. "I'm glad to hear that you're machine washable! Makes my domestic adventures much easier, wouldn't you say?" he said, releasing the man and taking his shirt, along with some others of Edison's that Patrick was sure had been laying around for quite some time now, and put them all into the washing machine. Patrick had always been a neat, clean freak. He hated messes, but was too polite to complain--much-- about the state of Edison's apartment. He would hint of course, but would never come right out an say it. Xara did the same, the crafty manatee, but would be much more blatant about it than Patrick. Perhaps she didn't need to be worried about offending him and getting into a fight? He didn't think anyone could really argue with a pregnant woman, least of all one that already knew all of the different ways to kill a man.
He put in some detergent and switched the machine on, gnawing on the question Edison handed him with. He was ashamed of what he did, even more so because of why he did it. Patrick wasn't supposed to grow up to be such an asshole. In fact, all he was supposed to do was hide the fact he was a vampire and finish off his degree in Vocal Jazz. He didn't complete the first task as well, but the second one he did just fine. Not that he put it to great use, he thought bitterly as he recalled these moments in his past, trying to think of a viable reason to give Edison.
"There has to be some way to control it." he muttered, turning to sit next to Edison on his bed. He leaned his elbows on his knees and put his chin in the palms of his hands, "Maybe there is someone you can talk to? I did." he admitted begrudgingly, "That's where I sneak off to after my gigs. I felt really bad about what I did to Sage. Tara..." he shrugged, grinning, "Not so much. But yeah, I felt bad. I asked a local Vampire Elder guy and he said that I was doing it, at first, because of the demon thing you got rid of. It fed off it, remember? He said it's also like a drug to us, which is why the demons who do that inhabit vampires, so we keep 'naturally' wanting more. So...basically I'm a drug addict. He gave me this," he pulled out a small necklace with a charm on it, "It's like a shock collar, so whenever it senses I'm about to do it, it freezes me..."
He looked down at his hands, and realized his smile had faded as he spoke. "It also felt good to make people hurt and make them upset, because I'm an asshole who doesn't know how to handle his emotions."

Edison squeaked as Patrick pocked him up and rocked him back and forth, hr had never thought how strong he was. He laughed at his comment and shrugged. "So you're the house wife in this relationship then? I'm okay with that, I'd be horrible at cleaning." Which was more than true. If it wasn't for the people that came over here and picked up a few thongs now and then this place would be a pig sty! Edison had never felt the need to keep things clean, he'd just toss clothes and trash on the floor where he last used them. And cleaning took too much energy and focus.
He flopped back on the bed and sighed gently as Patrick went off to do laundry and stared at the ceiling. At least things weren't as awkward at this moment. They were cracking jokes, no one was trying to kill the other, and everyone was fully clothed. He wondered where things would go from here, if they'd make up or keep fighting; it could go easily either way. But hopefully they would work things out, even if that took a few more fights.
Edison sat up when Patrick came back and rubbed his back before kissing his cheek. "I've talked to people Pat, trust me, most have just said that it's the nature of evil things and that you can't really control them. Others say it's just the nature of the person who controls all of these things. But,"he sighed "I don't think that's true, I think other people can hold an impact on others." he grinne at his boyfriend. Sage and Patrick had both calmed him down considerably. Now he had a few people he really cared about and didn't want them to get hurt.
Edison nodded somberly. "Sage wasn't too devastated by the matter, she is just worried about you too. But Tara," he laughed. "She's another story, but I'm sure she doesn't think of you any better or worse, she's just Tara."
"Maybe you could find something to replace your addiction? Something that makes you feel the same satisfaction of even better." he gave him a tight squeezed and rubbed his arm. "But don't torture yourself to death about it, I liked you before you hated terrorizing people and I'll still like you now, promise."

"But don't torture yourself to death about it, I liked you before you hated terrorizing people and I'll still like you now, promise."
Patrick smiled and looked down at his hands, wondering why they were fighting in the first place anyway. Why were they fighting, when they were so perfect together? Who could argue with something like that? It was obvious they loved each-other and, if Patrick were to be honest with himself, he would have to admit that it was almost impossible to stay mad at Edison. Even more so when he said adorable, wooing things like that. Patrick smiled and turned, pinning Edison down on the bed and kissing him, smiling as he did so.
He did not have a heart to beat harder when he got so close to Edison, but there was no doubting parts of him began to heat up. not that he was looking for sex. Not with a drunk ass man anyway. He hated relationships like that. No, he was just feeling playful and had pinned Edison down simply for the fact that it brought them even closer. He lowered himself so he lay beside Ed with his head resting in the nook of Edison's shoulder. It fit there almost naturally, and he sighed as he snuggled into his boyfriends warmth.
"Thank you dear." he said, taking Edison's hand and rubbing the top of it lovingly with his thumb. "But I don't think there is anything I can replace it. I mean, in a way, I've replaced it with you, but you're just an aid," he turned his eyes to Edison and smiled reassuringly, "A very--very-- useful one, but it's still something I need to conquer on my own I guess. Kind of in the same way you do with your demon form? But here is the deal," he said seriously, taking a second to roll onto his side, kissing Edison's cheek, "I will stop doing drugs, if you stop coming home drunk off you ass. Okay? Deal?
"but for now, I would like to lay here, beside you, and listen to you tell me stories about your childhood?"
He grinned wolfishly, "I'll show mine if you show me yours." he said, nudging him with a giggle. "But seriously... tell me a bit about your childhood? Have you always been...demon-ish?"

Edison shut his eyes as Patrick pushed him onto the bed, causing his stomach to lurch. He gullies to keep back his last meal, thinking how awful it would be if he threw up on Patrick. Once the queasiness vanished he smiled up at his boyfriend, hoping he had more class than lots of others would have, and he did once he rolled off the top of him.
"Don't say that love," he ran his free hand through the man's hair and smiled. "We'll find something that can help you, even if we have to travel to every witch doctor in the world!" he chuckled and rested his head ontop of Patricks. "Don't give up yet."
His chest tightened as Patrick began to say he was like the antidrug in a way and kissed the top of his head. "I don't really think I make your powers calm down but if you say so. And I'll stop getting trashed, just no breaking the deal."
He rolled his eyes at Patrick's comment. "I think I already showed you everything, and probably half the city as well." Edison chuckled and sighed happily before shutting his eyes again.
"No I wasn't always a gooey monster, just about four years ago, actually on my birthday; isn't that a great present?" he chuckled dryly, even though it didnt bother him too much, he didnt think birthdays were anything sentimental.
"But I had a normal human childhood. I went to school, had homework, did things I wasn't suppose to, ya know normal things. Funny thing is that I really didn't talk or even see many abnormals. We'd always make stories about them on why they were moving through our city and what they had done." he smiled. "Imagine the look on my friend's faces if they knew I was dating a vampire, and that I was a paranormal myself! I wonder what they thought had happened to me, running away like that..." he sighed softly and smiled weakly at Patrick. "It doesn't really matter though, I'm not going back there."
"So how was growing up for you? Did you come out wearing a fedora?"

"Imagine the look on my friend's faces if they knew I was dating a vampire, and that I was a paranormal myself! I wonder what they thought had happened to me, running away like that… It doesn't really matter though, I'm not going back there."
Patrick nodded, thinking deeply about his boyfriends past life. It seemed dramatic and so sad. It wasn’t fair, what had happened to him. He wished he could have been there, to save him, to protect him from all of this misery he had suffered through. Then again, he thought, if he were able to save him from his fate would Edison still fall in love with a vampire? Not that he had ever thought ill of Edison in that way; he seemed like the kind of guy who followed his heart. But he was afraid that if Edison were a human then human culture would have prevented him from ever going out with a vampire. He wondered what it was like, being human at one point. Living in the fear of paranormals perhaps? He wasn’t sure what his parents had brought him up believing.
Patrick’s eyes snapped wide and he looked over to his boyfriend with a big grin. “I wouldn’t be so sure about that Eddy.” He said, “I would like to meet your mom and dad one day. I think you should visit, to let them know you’re still alive and everything. But I, personally,” he continued, poking himself in the chest, “would like to meet the couple who spawned the love of my life.”
Patrick grinned innocently at Edison, holding his hand and rubbing the back of it with his thumb, tenderly. “No pressure though, okay?” He said, looking around the room as he considered where to start about his past. He had never spoken about it before, aside for to the elder he had conversed with earlier.
“No I was not born with a fedora, silly.” He grinned down at Edison, “I was born in a small town, in the middle of nowhere.” He began, sitting up slowly to rest his shoulders against the wall. “My father was a human, so their relationship was tabooed. My mother was a vampire who came from England, somewhere, I can never remember where. They had me, and I was homeschooled. I’m sure you can imagine why. When I was eleven, my mother died in a car accident. Dad took care of me, but he was only human so when he was older I moved in to take care of him. He called out to mom all the time and I think he died sooner than later because he was lonely. It’s sad when that happens, but at the same time so hopelessly romantic, don’t you think?”
He sighed with a soft smile and rested his hand on Edison’s head, twirling his fingers through his hair and stroking its softness.
“When he died I moved around a lot. I went all over the place, and I got into some trouble. Some people don’t like vampires; some people don’t like gay people… so I wasn’t too popular. I met a nasty guy in a club who bit me in a fight, he was another vampire and he passed the demon along to me when I killed him. The demon almost killed me if it wasn’t for my ex-boyfriend, who took care of me when I was sick. He and I became very close you see but the demon was doing well because I was also doing well. When I refused to give in to some of the ‘urges’ the demon wanted me to do, it had to overtake me and I literally sucked the life out of him…” he trailed off with a quivering chin, tears brimming in his eyes as he inhaled deeply to calm himself. “then I went on a binge for about two years, and moved here. You happened a month or so after that.”
He slid down again to lay next to Edison, snuggling into him. “that’s about it…”

Edison raised a brow as Patrivk pulled his award winning smile that meant he was up to no good. Shock overtook him at the idea Patrock made, that was a horrible idea! "What? No, no, no silly! I would not bring you back there if my life depended on it. My parents were fairly open to paranormals, but not the rest of the town. I would be afraid that you'd get hurt."He shook his head with a small grin. "You're just the king of dirty jokes aren't you?"
He tried to keep his smile but it quickly faded as Patrick's story quickly turned negative. It was interesting though how his dad was human, it was like a forbidden love story. Could his mother possibly have bitten her husband so he didn't die? Maybe Patrick himself could haven bitten him, but he didn't feel like it was right to ask those kinds of questions. And both of his parents were dead, that was also rather depressing, but he guessed he would outlive his as well. Was that also a reason why Patrick wanted to meet his parents, because ue didn't have any of his own? Probably.
A shiver went up his spine as Patrick ran his fingers through his hair. "Yeah that is rather romantic, almost like Romeo and Juliet in a sense, ah sorry I'm a sucker for Shakespear." and he was. Edison loved to read his novels and see the plays, maybe he'd take Patrick to one, if it didn't bore him to death of course.
He sighed as Patrick continued and talked more about his love life. Dear god it was almost like the same situation today. Edison was already feeling terribly guilty and he hadn't even killed anyone. Imagining the pain his boyfriend must have felt made his stomach lurch. "I'm sure he knew it was an accident." he pulled Patrick into a hug and kissed the top of his head. "You were sick, it's understandable." he didn't know what quite to say to make him feel any better.
"Well we are together right? And we won't let anything bad happen to the other one. Promise." he smiled gently and sat in silence for awhile trying to think of what their next step would be. Hopefully nothing bad would happen between them again, no more fighting at least.
"Uh I'll go get your shirt." he gushed, forgetting about it until now. He untangled himself from Patrick and gave a faint smile before ducking off into the laundry room. He gripped the sides of the dryer as it slowed to a stop and fished out his shirt. Edison made his way quickly back to Patrick and handed it to him before taking a seat.
"So, you have your own apartment right?" he rubbed the back of his head. "Um well if we wanted we er could move in together, either here or at your place?"he stared at Patrick for a second before shaking his head. "Nevermind terrible idea, forget about it."
