My job, lets see where I can even start explaining this. It all started when I moved to this city. I had decided to make it my home and needed a job that would suit my needs of money and mental enjoyment. My first job was as a baker’s assistant, thinking I could cook, ha! And after that I managed to ‘scavenge’ up enough money to by a room for an office and then I started to get my name out there.
At first it was hard to find a job. I had occasional people here and there that would ask for petty things, me to spy on people, pretend to be a date, ect. But I finally got my break when a more desperate person came and gave me my big break after I completed his request to his satisfaction and he told his friends and others.
And now its crazy, my phone rings constantly, but I choose to ignore it most of the time. I know I sound like a slacker, but I like to choose my clients wisely, because some of them aren’t very responsible. I don’t want to risk my skin for some money; I’m not completely an idiot!
Anyways, today I had another job, which wasn’t anything out of the odd. A woman had set up an appointment with me early in the morning and we had met without anything happening. But when she got into my office she broke down in tears. Mind me, I am no people’s person, and the encounter was a bit awkward. I stood there for a minute before walking over and patting her on the back gently trying to calm her down.
Her story managed to fall out through tears which eventually faded to small sobs here and there. Her husband was the leader of a local gang and had been taken by an opposing gang and was now threatening hiss life if the ransom was not paid. And she didn’t have the money so it was my job to rescue this man. But I wasn’t doing it for the money, this time, I was doing it to gain a small alliance with this gang; an added ally was always a good one. And this gang sounded like it had some ties in the city, especially since their leader was being held hostage.
It sounded like something up my alley so I accepted. But I needed help, oh god did I just admit that! Even a thought to myself sounded pathetic!
The next thing I did was go through my files of ‘helpers’, just people who could kick ass for me, not for free of course, but I could still make a healthy profit even with hiring extra help. I came across this abnormal woman who had a cartel of people wrapped around her finger and I hadn’t spoken to her yet, so she sounded like a good person to help me.
We had decided to meet in a park, the typical meet up for illegal things. I would have rather met at her hideout or wherever but I understood. I didn’t want to give up my office to just any random stranger. This woman could be anyone, even a cop, god that would be an awful sticky situation to get out of. And I was hoping nothing like that would happen today, but you never knew.
I made my way into the park around noon, like we had agreed, and paced around for a bit. It wasn’t a very big place, about the size of a football field, but it was nice I had to admit. Green grass grew evenly over the terrain and flowers bloomed here and there. I chuckled at the thought of all the horrible things that must have happened here, yet the beauty of the scenery never showed nay of its dark secrets. I made a note to come back here at night and see if the values still held true.
I ended up sitting in the grass close to the bench we had chosen and ran my hands through the blades. I liked this place, it made me forget.

Castor sighed as she walked calmly down the streets. This week had been hectic as she took on the daunting task of checking out all of her cartels Allies.Needless to say she made a few enemy's. Staying on top was hard. She found herself in a constant ring with those around her. Bites and snarls underneath words. A few time it had come to blows. She was still top dog. She wouldn't have it any other way. Though this filled in the usual scamperings of work. The strange thing was the call she had received. Someone had requested a meeting. He sounded convincing enough and from the details she knew this seemed like it could be interesting. Though because it had nothing directly to do with her cartel she had chosen to meet him away from their watchful eyes. That was not the kind of introduction she was aiming for.
Her feet made little sound as she passed onto the grass of the park. Now came the fun part. Finding the man she was supposed to meet. The bench was empty and although a man sat near it she would take no chances. She had to be careful about these things she didn't want to end up in jail for an armature mistake. Taking in a crisp breath she blinked through her shades.Thankfully it was a slow day and she had few choices. Immediately she crossed the old man snoring by a tree of the list. Soon she was able to eliminate others as she spent a good five minutes just surveying tell she found the person she wanted. Turned out it was indeed the man a few paces away from the bench.
Castor walked over at an even pace and sat down on the bench. Not quite wanting to address the stranger. Though she got over that and smiled at him. "Hello" she said holding out her hand. She knew how to do business after all. If he shook it she was sure if he didn't or seemed confused by the action. Well she'd just get another person who thought she was strange.

Who knew how long I had been waiting here and how long that made the woman late. But honestly I didn’t really care when she showed up. This was one of the longest breaks I had had in awhile, and it felt nice. I could stay here for hours and waste away the day without giving a shit about the angry people who I didn’t return their calls or missed their appointments. They’d get over it or leave, either way I didn’t care. It wasn’t my problems I was dealing with, it was theirs!
I laughed softly to myself, which snapped my out of my daydream and noticed a woman wandering about. She seemed like she was looking for her, which always made people stand out to me. But I wasn’t going to approach her with help I just watched her with a delighted smirk. That was, until she looked over in my direction. So this was the girl I was looking for and who was looking for me.
She didn’t seem like the type of person I was expecting. Her delicate features made her seem too weak or girly to control a group of ruthless men and women. But I could tell that she was hiding a lot with her looks when she neared. Her eyes were hard with whatever challenges she had faced and stern lines around her almost forced smile.
I looked at her hand for a moment and took it, not as a handshake but to pull myself up from the ground. Of course I could have done that myself but touching was my thing, funny eh? Well for one, I could use this woman’s form, which I rather fancied. Second, I craved human interaction, well not exactly human but you get my drift. It was a physiological thing, something that I needed to make myself feel better…god I make myself sick.
“Yes hello, I take it you are Castor then? Yes well then let’s sit.” I motioned to the bench and scooted onto it, not waiting for a response, I just wanted to get this started and over with as quickly as possible.
“Well obviously I need you and your group.” What else was I supposed to call them? Thugs? Murders? “There is a man being held hostage by his rival gang and are threatening to kill him soon unless we act.” Like I could care less about the man’s safety at the moment, who knew how long he actually had. The gang could be bluffing or they could have already killed him, who knew?
“So any questions before you accept or decline? I have others waiting if you say no so please hurry.” A lie, of course, but sometimes it intimidated the person into accepting.

Castor was relieved when her hand was taken and surprised when he took the motion to pull himself up. Classy. She raised an eyebrow at him but did not resist the forced act of extra contact. Although she usually shyed away from prolong contact she let this slide. After all there was no reason to antagonize the man. There was enough trouble without angering someone who made it his business to know other peoples business.Glancing at him she took a look at who had hired her. So this was her contractor. He was taller than her but so where most people. You could say that part of her anger stemmed from this the Napoleon complex but often times she was quite proud of who she was. Her size made her a smaller target. Part from that he seemed pretty normal just another street walker. Course he was more than that seeing as he chosen to tread in warm water. She couldn't blame him. It made life interesting, least it kept her up at night.
He gave a greeting a sat down almost in the same motion. Castor nodded and joined him on the bench. She took that moment to take in the view. It was a lovely day. Just right. The sun was a hint of warm on the breeze of fresh grass. It was serene and unreal taking her problems away. A smile formed at the curves of her lips but vanished as she brought herself back to earth. She wasn't here to observe the weather or day dream. He spoke again and Castor smirked. Way to go captain obvious. Then he proceeded to give her some real information and she turned her full attention to him. Frowning she chewed slightly on her lower lip. "How do we know he ain't dead? " she said calmly. Who wanted to waste men on a fools errand. If he was dead then there where other problems. The gang he'd left behind would usually only go a few ways. They join another clan. They tear each other apart. Disband into unorganized crime or the one she was concerned with, they'd get another leader. For all she knew who ever it was could already be pulling strings. She didn't no how long this vanished man had been missing.
She snorted. He was pushy but she would not be rushed. "Touching, but whatever trouble he's in isn't going to get him in the next few hours and if it has. Me saying yes now is not going to change that fact". She ran through her head how this was going to help her. How she planed to turn this to her advantage. She wasn't apposed to double crossing. After all she was looking to grab hold of more than what she had. Ambitious yes, but she was tired of skulking about in the shadows. It was time to make a difference. Taking in another breath of air she smiled. "You have yourself a deal. Course theres a matter of payment" she said. She couldn't expect people to do her biding if she didn't have a carrot to swing in front of them. Fear accounted for a good portion of her control but loot is what kept them from turning on her. If your going home rich its hard to want to change your ways.

Yeah I know my move wasn’t very polite but when was I ever polite? Besides touching her was more than just a support to pull me up. Now I’m no sicko in the sexual way, but I don’t get very much love or support, which I’m fine with. But I am a very touchy feely guy, feeling the warmth of another gives me this feeling…like I’m normal or something. I can’t explain it, but just go with me on this one. And the other reason I enjoyed the handshake was because I could get a grip on the girl’s form just in case I needed to blackmail her with it or something.
I waited impatiently as she took her good time to rise and then sit down next to me. She didn’t seem like the type to be dealing in backstreet affairs, but I wasn’t one to judge. But I could tell she was deceiving me. Her eyes were sharp as a tack. They could instill in anybody I bet, that’s probably the way she took control over people.
I looked away quickly as she started he conversation, hoping she didn’t see me staring and mistake it for something other than what I had intended. “Well sweetheart, he has a price on his head either dead or alive so it doesn’t matter, but the client would be more satisfied if he was alive of course.”
My lips curled at the edges as she talked quickly and didn’t wait for an answer to accept. “Great.” I snorted at her comment; these people were really in it only for the money? Eh I guess everyone had their sick twisted reasons for being in these businesses. “Don’t worry your pretty head about it. Once we get the job done we can split it halfway and walk away happy. I’m a man of my word.” Most of the time anyways. But I could care less about money.
I rose to my feet and stretched my arms behind y back, looking around to expect thugs to crawl out from the trees. “But I’m ready when you are. No pressure.” If she was as professional as I had heard we could finish the job in a couple hours and then maybe we could have a nice cup of tea after with a biscuit. No, I just wanted to go home and sleep, yeah, that sounded nice.

He was staring but she was used to intense gazes. She spoke anyway knowing in good time he would stop sizing her up. After all she had cast him the same look trying to guess how dangerous he was. Her stature had gained her a few advantages and disadvantages. The strong one being that she was often underestimated though this was a double edged knife as she found it hard to convince others to take up her ideas without grinding their faces into the pavement. Though in time she supposed it would get easier as she started to build up a reputation.
Her face tightened in a small frown. Not exactly out right but just noticeable. That wouldn't do. Though he was still talking so she listened on. Glad that who ever his client was just wanted the body. Though alive was the preferred method she made no promises.
Raising an eye brow she said nothing as he snorted at her need for money. She did not expect him to care or understand her financial situation. She didn't drag in the black market for the money but for a higher price the kind marked in blood. Money however was what every one assumed and she was willing to be seen as the greedy woman. She clenched her teeth. There he went again.
"Listen Romeo I agreed to help you but you better drop the sweetheart. So forget about my pretty little head or you may find yourself with out one." she said rather annoyed. Those terms looked down upon her and she could not have him talking to her in that manner. Especially in ear shot of the cartel.
He got up a stretched and Castor rose as well though she gave him a strange look as his eyes darted about the park.
"Lets go then" she said flipping out her phone and texting to men to get ready to meet her. She looked to Edison. It was on him to get them there she could get them inside.

There is one thing you should know about me, when I find out what bugs people I take it and run with it. So if you are annoyed by something I do feel free to keep it too yourself! I nearly burst out into a fit of laughter as she addressed by pet names for her. Oh this was going to be a fun job.
“Romeo?” I questioned, I was no Romeo, I just loved to use terms of endearment towards others. But now I’d just use them to annoy her.
“I’m no Romeo darling, but what you for the compliment, Shakespeare is a fantastic writer and a credit as a human.” I giggled. “Ah a threat? Cute.”
I rose to my feet and rocked back and forth on my toes as she flipped open her phone. I flashed her a toothy grin once she was done doing whatever it was and nodded, holding out my hand for her to start walking. “Ladies first miss Juliet.”
I giggled again before skipping off in front of her just in case she decided to strike me. Maybe she was more professional than that, but I would never put it past a person to slap me, I was just that annoying at times. But when the time came to get down to work I could cut the play time and focus. I know a good joke isn’t worth dying for; I’m not a complete idiot you know.
I walked briskly out of the park and down a smaller street heading towards the newer part of down that was full of construction. It was a shame that they were ruining this part of town, I always loved the quietness to the open fields. And now the fields would be covered in loud polluting factories and warehouses.
The place we were looking for wasn’t too hard for me to find. Once I got the gang’s name out of the hysterical woman I went to the streets and found a crowd of not so willing teenagers. They denied at first, like all of them did, but after some force they went quietly. The place they described was one of the warehouses that was being built, but some violation of codes or something had made them pause on the construction. And now the gang was occupying it until everything was sorted out.
I hung a sharp left as we came into the skeletons of the buildings and rested against the back of a half completed wall. I jabbed my thumb around the corner, pointing to a normal looking building. “That’s where our body is Miss Castor.” I smiled and crossed my arms. “Now we just need your men and we can get started.”

Castor No promise is honest in a world of change.
Castor growled at his response. Laughter danced on his eyes and she had a strong urge to knock them off. He clearly didn't take her seriously but that mattered little. She took a deep breath and relaxed. Her instead softened her gaze and frowned slightly. He wasn't human. At least he gave that impression by separating himself from them. She shrugged not bothering to ask. The less she knew the better.
She raised an eye brow showing she was not amused. Though the smirk on her mouth said otherwise. Cheeky. It was hard for her to relax and not take things as a constant threat. It felt nice to break away from it and revive her lost sense of humor. It was a sad reflection to see how goal orientated she had gotten. These last few months she had complete forgotten about unwinding.
"I'm not taking a dagger for you"
He giggled like a school girl at his play and Castor shook her head. Some people found humor in anything. Taking a few calm steps in front of him tell he whisked past in a skip. Leaving Castor unsure what to make of the strange man.
She walked carefully behind him. Offering no conversation. Instead she reached up to her eyes and took of her glasses and very quickly removed the green contact that had been hiding yellow underneath. Dropping the contact to the floor she sped up a bit. The neighbor hood changed as they headed to a construction area.
there was a click as she loaded her old silver revolver. Her weapon of choice after the knives she always had with her. She pointed it down wards and walked a few more paces as he stopped in front of a rather normal looking building. She nodded to him and let out a whistle.
They actual been behind them for a few blocks. Their where two. "Snake" she pointed to a skinny looking man who nodded his head as she voiced his name. He was a slippery one as his name implyed. The other fit the normal gang stereotypic with a strong build and a mass of tattoos. "Thats James" she said the man didn't move. She glanced at Edison and shrugged.
"I'm sticking with the name Romeo for you. Here whats going to happen. These two will cover the distraction" she looked to them and they nodded. "We have about 10 minutes before violence breaks out." she looked back to her men. "If where not back raise the place"
She was not about to pass up the opportunity to wreak havoc on another's gang. Flicking her head her men walked of. She counted to ten. There job was to offer this gang a profit in one of her illegal arms deals then change their minds. "Let go" she slipped toward the unfamiliar building. Glancing at Edison. He wouldn't happen to have a floor plan. That would help tremendously.
I rule the ruins with passion and pain

“I’m not taking a dagger for you.”
I rolled my eyes and smirked as she growled as I continued to poke fun at her. I gained satisfaction from knowing that I was getting on her nerves. But I would never ask her, or want her, to take a dagger for me. We were strangers after all, and we held a mutual respect of not wanting to be anything more than business partners. I could tell that maybe we could become close if we gave the effort, but right know I didn’t think we could.
“Good.” I looked her in the eyes for a second, softening them before turning my attention away as she pulled out a weapon and loaded it. Shame. I had been expecting to see some powers in action today, but I guess I wasn’t going to. But just because she had a gun that didn’t mean she wasn’t a paranormal it just meant that’s she didn’t feel like using powers around a stranger whom you couldn’t trust, which was okay with me I guess.
I hissed softly under my breath as two guys appeared out of no where, scaring me just a bit. How long had they been following us? Oh well, at least they were good. I nodded to both and grinned toothily as she called me Romeo, I was beginning to rather like that name. “At your service men.” I bowed to them elaborately before straightening up and wandering back towards the warehouse, cautious as to any danger. I wasn’t expecting much, this was a new gang, what possibly could they have that I hadn’t seen before?
I looked back to Castor who seemed to give me a glance asking where we were going exactly. “Second floor back room on the left, it’s fairly big I don’t think you’ll be able to miss it unless you’re blind.” I grinned before stepping over some of the ruble of an unfinished wall and crept quietly along the side. Ten minutes, that wasn’t that long of time until havoc broke out and they would have to push to get out without a scratch. But I had hope for us, but who knew if we would make it out of here unharmed, each day was always a gamble, ours with a higher risk each day we didn’t get injured.
I stopped as we approached the back of the building and the hallway turned sharply to the left. I switched walls and peaked around the corner before snapping my head back, making a hand motion of pointing around the corner. There was a man acting as a guard right below the stairs, but he had his back to us, luckily already. I grinned back to Castor and pointed to myself, I called this one.
Without an okay from her I ducked around the corner and held my breathe as I made small quiet steps towards him, dancing on my toes. I winced and paused as I let out a small breathe. The man grumbled to himself about something before standing up straighter and shifting the gun from one hand to the other. My heart was beating fast but it began to settle once I knew the guy wasn’t planning on turning around. I waited a few seconds to calm my nerves before taking more steps forward until I was in arms reach of him. He looked fairly human to me, and had a chubby look to him, but I could also tell he had muscles under some of that fat which made me jumpy. If he caught me he could easily squish me with a hand.
I bit my lip and reached out to wrap my arm around his throat, but gasped as his meaty hand clasped around my arm and flung me to the ground. So he had heard me, shit! Them and lifted me up by the throat and I flailed in his grasp, choking for air and trying to pry myself free of him. He laughed deeply and tilted his head to the side. “Aw you look like a bug with you’re eyes popping out like th-“ Bam. The small head movement he made allowed me to give him a quick kick in the jaw, making him release the grasp on my neck.
I landed heavily on the floor, but at the moment I didn’t care as I gasped for air, trying to get circulation back to my limbs. I looked around for Castor and glanced at the stairs as voices were coming closer. I raised my hand towards the door before trying to stand up and help her out. So much for going in quiet.
